Having a baseline definition for food measurement is crucial to food logging. Once a set of units are defined, it becomes easy to navigate for weight management goals.
By default, the serving size of a standard recipe/food item is defined by ‘medium-size serving. A large serving is 1.4 times a medium serving. A small serving is 3/4th of a medium serving. These serving size definitions are built with ease of logging in mind.
Eating as per these sizes establishes a frame of reference. Adjustments can be made based on goals within this frame of reference. This also creates a visual understanding of quantities and restricts one from over eating.
